“Fitting in, and standing out,” explains David Jackson, “it's what I do best.” Raised in south Louisiana, Jackson developed a passion for the blues, and a love of song writing at an early age. Jackson's unmistakable sense of modern style and his deliberate determination to “never do anything the way everybody else does it”, has proven thus far to be nothing but good for the 22-year-old rocker. Having lived in the Valley (Harlingen) for less than two years, his musical roots are just beginning to take hold in this new soil. His first local break came on a Tuesday night at a quaint little blues club in Brownsville, called the New Rising Sun at their weekly acoustic jam night. After having displayed exceptional ability both vocally and in performance, he was asked on several occasions to sit in with the house band (Joe Shull‘s Chill Bone) singing Stevie Ray Vaughan's hit Pride and Joy. |
