Temperstrain, a four member band formed in Austin, Texas in 1997, unite intelligent lyrics with aggressive, soulful modern rock. Crunching, distorted and down-tuned guitar licks ride a dark groove of complex drum and bass rhythms while sometimes crooning, sometimes primal-screaming vocals soar overhead. Temperstrain draw on wide- ranging influences to create a sound with broad appeal: hard enough for the hardcore in the mosh pit, melodic enough for those who prefer songs of raw but elegant emotional power. Temperstrain have been performing around Texas for the past two years. Additionally, they have performed live on the Austin Music Network during SXSW ‘98, received airplay on KLBJ-FM radio's “Local Licks”, were featured on the cable-access music showcase Capzeyez, on San Marcos' KIND-FM radio and were chosen for a SXSW 2000 after-hours showcase for Audiopia.com. Temperstrain released VIRAGO, their first full-length album in January 2000. VIRAGO is currently available at independent record stores in Austin and through their website, www.temperstrain.web.com. They have three previous self-released recordings . Temperstrain is currently in the process of planning a Summer 2000 tour of the Midwest. Temperstrain are Samuel Fitch, vocals; Kris Owen, guitar; Jake Perlman, drums and Justin Radke, bass. Please contact Jake @ eleven media co. 512-217-4164 for further information. |
