Satchel Blue came out of the suburbs of Birmingham representing the undercurrent of the city, its underpasses, dingely lit parks and high rise apartment blocks.
The music has undertones of the dirty and trashy, raw like the honest workers on the city roads and playful like litter in the breeze.
The lyrics are direct and poignant - they say what they mean. This is not a band that could be accused of mincing.
The new album 'Too Much Television' has been critically acclaimed even since its recent release. The playful 'That's all I want to need' depicts a ragged week-in-the-life, 'In the city' talks in confidence to those that have no better, and 'My beautiful mistake' tears at the heart of every lost relationship.
Recommended for those in touch with the heartbeat of everyday people, the new album is available through the official Satchel Blue website. |
