Moody and intense, Sarah Ellquist has been writing and performing music for ten years. She is a classically and jazz trained upright bassist as well as a singer / songwriter. Since moving to Los Angeles, from New Orleans in 1999, Sarah has honed her acoustic sound in a style all her own. Drawing from her jazz roots, and classical studies, Sarah's music has been described as "intoxicating!"
Sarah Ellquist steers clear of conventional "home grown" singer / songwriter themes in her self-released debut. Instead, she focuses on frustration, alienation, and love lost. At a mere 20 years old, Sarah sings beyond her years and wins over audiences with her astounding dynamics. "Music for a While" is a one-take collection of 10 songs from this unforgettable upcoming artist. |
