| Mostly influenced by the folk-rock scene of the 70s, Pepper MaShay was planning a career as a blues-rock singer/songwriter before visiting a European night club where she decided to turn to Dance music. During the 90's, Pepper teamed up with prominent producers and artists to participate in successful records such as Michael Bolton's "Time, Love, and Tenderness", Cher's "Love Hurts", Tina Turner's "What's Love Got To Do With It" and Whitney Houston's "My Love Is Your Love". Pepper's original songs such as "Dive In The Pool" and "Lost Yo Mind" have been #1 and #2 Billboard Dance Chart Hits. In 2005, she teamed up with Songwriters / Producers Michael Wickstrom and Brian Harris (ELECTRO ILLUSION). The three have recorded a new album "PEPPER MASHAY AND THE ELECTROILLUSION". Two songs from this new CD have been licensed for film and television, including their funky R&B influenced "Beauty Shop" which was featured in the MGM DVD "Beauty Shop" starring Queen Latifah, and their song "Electroillusion" which was featured on the TV version of "Walking Tall starring The Rock in 2006. Their most recent release "A Little Closer" won 1st Place in the Dance category of the USA Songwriting Competition judged by Universal, Sony Music, and Warner Records. More is yet to come, stay tuned! |
