Organum consists of Nick and Kate who happen to be siblings. Born and raised in Longmont Colorado.
Organum plays live shows consisting of Nick on vocals and acoustic guitar and Kate on back up vocals and hand drum. Organum plays mostly original music with a mandatory homeage to Ween by playing a random rotation of their songs at the end of each set. Organum can play atleast a 15 song set of variety, with random weirdness and babble between songs. Communicating and have a good time with the audience is key.
In Greek Mythology there was a musician known to have the ability to seduce animals of the forest and tame the wild beast. His music was known to possess such charm that trees would uproot and follow the sound of his music. In another example his wife was killed by a deadly snake. He found a cave which brought him to the underworld. He met with the King of The Dead and played music for him. His music had so much charm that the King restored his wife's life. He swore he would never love another, and it may have been the steadfastness of this vow which caused certain wild women of Thrace to tear him limb from limb in a fit of jealousy. They threw his head into a river, and it kept on singing all the way to the sea.
After a countless amount of time, the musician once again persuaded the King Of The Dead to restore his life. So now, with a new life and a new name... Organum is back doing what he always loved. Playing music. |
