The first reality rapper for the NEMIS Music Incubator and the nephew of Donna Summers, Omega Red is poised for superstardom with your help in the Omega Red Fan Club.
Born Robert Grant in Boston, Massachusetts, Omega Red spent the better part of his childhood in poverty, where his street life led him to a short stint in prison. He then joined the United States Air Force, traveling around to various countries and cultures. With a background of the street, behind bars and abroad, Omega Red combines all of his experiences into creating unique and diverse rap music.
While incarcerated, Omega Red keyed into rap as a means of escape, which has resulted in over 500 songs in his library. Whether about poverty, growing up on the street or relationships, Omega Red is making Reality Rap entertaining and accessible to a widespread audience. In other words, Omega Red keeps it simple: “If I haven't experienced it, I don't want to write about it”.
Although Omega Red writes many songs about his life on the streets, his rhymes about the ins and outs of love have attracted a large female fan base that is steadily growing in numbers throughout New England. Omega Red is more than a hip-hop artist, but what he likes to call himself, a “street credible renaissance man.”
Omega Red currently spends his time performing at club venues and arenas throughout New England and New York, and music conferences such as The New England Music Industry Summit. With his commanding stage presence, charisma and wit, he impresses audiences with the pain, joy and laughter of his life story.
