| Nissi discovered her talents with a guitar at age 14 and in just over a year she was performing at local venues and across the nation stunning audiences with her mature lyrics and original music. Nissi is under development with "Smith & Huston" made up of vocal coach/producer Jan Smith "www.jansmith.com" (Matchbox 20, Usher, India.Arie, Collective Soul,...) and producer/songwriter, Huston Singletary www.hustonmusic.com (Keith Sweat, Brian McKnight, Jeff Lorber). Nissi is a classic singer/songwriter - writing her own material. She is dedicated to developing her craft and sound in service to the song, toning down flashy guitar in favor of memorable melodies and distinctive rhythmic textures. Her goal is to be "listenable" but original. She has a penchant for alternate tunings and chord voicings on guitar that make her sound different from anything else out there on the radio today. She has been compared to such various artists as Sheryl Crow, Michelle Branch, Fionna Apple, John Mayer, and Dave Mathews all in the same breath. Nissi's musical star is rising quickly. She is generating a great local buzz and has already garnered record label interest. On any given night, Nissi's musical styling can be heard at local coffeehouses and songwriter venues around Nashville. |
