| Michael Bird is a Scottish songwriter living in N Ireland. His music is eclectic with Irish traditional and contemporary influences. The songs always try to say something if you listen hard enough. The musicians playing on the tracks are diverse ranging from jazzers Debra Salem (backing vocals) and Richard Mahwhinney (sax) to straight traditional musicians John Linden (whistle) and Jac McIllduff (uilliann pipes). The tracks also feature Jules Maxwell on keyboards and bass. Michael plays guitar and lately has taken to using the traditional tuning DADGAD for most songs and using traditional rythyms |
