The name MAD DOG SURRENDER came from the Steely Dan lyric off the 1976 album titled The Royal Scam in the song Don't Take Me Alive. After searching for a band name, member of the current acoustical duo, Jonny Agostino, formed a band in 1998 titling it MAD DOG SURRENDER. The band at that time played music in a genre they termed, “alternative metal. “ The band broke up, as many bands do, in 2001. At that time the music died, a rebirth of the band MAD DOG SURRENDER took a new place in 2004 to a new style of music, as a contemporary alternative folk style acoustical duo featuring Paul Duggan (lead vocals) and Johny Agostino (co- vocalist.)
The current 2004 MAD DOG SURRENDER has been a busy band playing many venues. In addition to this, MAD DOG SURRENDER has been featured on local TV stations on several occasions and has been featured in the local paper, as “sending the editorial department into a mini frenzy,” according to the New Times music editor.San Luis Obispo CA. MAD DOG SURRENDER and it's members Paul Duggan and Jonny Agostino look forward to all the possibilities that will be awarded in the following years to come. |
