Krissy grew up in the church in Boston and was taught about God since childhood, but had never developed a personal relationship with Him. “I loved the Lord, but wasn't really in love with Him, and there is a distinct difference.” However, Krissy had a “spiritual awakening” in 2002 that caused her to recommit herself to Christ and to pursue after His will for her life.
Once I told the Lord that I would go anywhere and do whatever He wanted me to, He began to show me that He wanted me to use the songs He had given me to spread His message to the world. This was the last thing that I thought I would or could ever do, because of paralyzing fear, doubt and insecurity. But, He reminded me that it is “not by power or by might but by His Spirit, that I am just the vessel...the means to carry His message and to bring glory to His Kingdom and that “perfect love casts out fear”.
Despite her fears, Krissy continued to step out in faith, remembering God's Word and standing on His promises. She became worship leader at one of the services at her church in Boston and immediately saw how God was using her to minister to others. “The more I stepped aside and let the Lord take over, the more I saw “His strength made perfect in my weakness.”
Next, the Lord began to call Krissy out of her “comfort zone”, and she and her family relocated to Charlotte. “None of us knew the exact reason for the move, but we were obedient to the Lord's leading.” Shortly thereafter, Krissy began to discover many new and exciting ministry opportunities. Krissy began singing “The National Anthem” at several Charlotte Knights AAA baseball games, which helped her gain experience and exposure in public venues. She also joined a group called, Voices in Praise, and began ministering the gospel through song to the homeless, needy, widowed, elderly and lost in the local community. God used her to bless His people, increase her faith and trust in Him, and more importantly, strengthen her desire to evangelize and to share the gospel with the world. |
