Artist Bio
Throughout the ages, man has ventured to improve himself by taking what was and improving it to what will be. Kerosene, by taking grunge and metal elements of the past and present is endeavoring to create their own version of the music of the future. Kerosene's live performances are a full frontal attack and what the crowd doesn't let out during the show, the band takes.

Familiar to the ear, yet strange and exciting to the mind, Kerosene is the union of four individuals of very differing musical and personal backgrounds. The band first formed in 1997 when singer/guitarist Mark Bursey and guitarist Jeff Bird joined together to create Kerosene. After having poor luck with drummers and bass players, the band finally came together with the assistance of former Section 8 members Scott Tipple on drums and Jeremy Putz on bass guitar. The group then assaulted Regina and surrounding area with their live shows and occasional demo releases.

In March 2001 Kerosene entered the studio to record "Lost Cause" their 13-song debut album. Unfortunately the band would enter the studio without long time bass player Jeremy Putz. With Mark on bass for the recording of the album, the band finally recruited former Dulcet bass player Jeremy Pilon to take up bass and back-up vocal duties in April 2001. "Lost Cause" was finally released in September 2001 followed by a free CD release party in Regina in mid October.

Kerosene's future plans include a short tour in the near future of several venues in the Prairie Provinces as well as continuing to promote and sell their album.
