Artist Bio
The Band

JoystickCompany was formed on Valentine's Day 1999 in Huntington Beach California. Formed for a performance in a musicianship class at Marina High School, the band decided to just keep on practicing in Cooper's bedroom afterwards. It was in this room that their style of rock/pop/punk started to emerge. Eventually Cooper was kicked out of his own room by all of the equipment, and by the fact that Kevin's jumping finally cracked his wood bedframe. The name Joystick Company was thought up out of the deep recesses of Brett's brain after one of their first practices and was made the name almost immediately. One of their first live performances was for friends at Marina's Amphitheatre, with which they used to slowly rise up to clubs like Hollywood's Whisky and the Palace. They hope to continually play these places on a regular basis so their music can be appreciated by as many people from as wide an area as possible. So go see them as soon as you can!!!

Cooper

Cooper has been playing drums for 8 years and took lessons for 5 years. He has been playing in bands since he started playing and doesn't plan on ever stopping for anyone or anything. He grew up learning mostly punk and rock music but from taking lessons, his drum teacher, Toby Harwell, has definitely got funk stuck in him, without a doubt. If he could change anything about his drumming he would just want to have more time to take lessons.

Brett

Brett started playing guitar at age 11, taking lessons every week for 6 and one half years. He's been singing ever since he's been playing guitar. In eighth grade he transferred out of a private school into a public school. That's when he started meeting more people that were interested in music, especially when he started at Marina High School in Huntington Beach, CA. He then started getting into playing in bands; a couple ska bands, one punk band, and then Joystick Company. Brett was also voted most talented in 1999 ( senior year ) by his fellow classmates. It was cool of his friends to vote for him! He actually got a picture in the yearbook! Out of high school Brett took a few semesters at a local junior college. And that's it! You're looking at the rest, basically all he's been doing is playing music and promoting Joystick Company.
