James Guest the artist is the latest uprising star from the State of Texas. A native son of the lone star state, James has performed in front of many crowds sharing billings with rock greats such as REO Speedwagon, Bachman Turner Overdrive, Ted Nugent, and many more. All this hard work landed him a trip to Southern California and many promising opportunities including a wonderful chance to work with fellow Texans Grammy® winner Steve Tyrell of the smash hit “Somewhere Out There" from An American Tail and Barry Coffin composer /songwriter of the film soundtrack “Extremities” Starring Farrah Fawcett.
Blessed with a natural talented voice he developed a deep musical interest at a very young age. His parents often found James singing and performing with Waco and its surrounding communities. James has consistently participated in many churches and non-profit events as cast of musicals and choir concerts.
The year 2003 marks the birth of James Guest Souls of Gospel. The debut CD described as "A unique group of musicians performing groundbreaking Rock influenced songs composed of hook filled pop originals with Positive lyrics and messages about Love, Life & Relationships without conforming to any boundary of religion”.
The live show brings James Guest to a new level of vocal performance by augmenting with improvisations and variation that brings the performance of each show a unique and memorable snapshot of an honest artistic expression.
This window of time that has been given to James Guest Souls of Gospel to pursue the true form of musical art without compromising to conform to any particular style, genre or artistic integrity. It is a rarity in today's music, We hope you find it inspiring and fulfilling.
James Guest resides in Texas, where he spends his free time leading hope prayers at correctional institutes sharing his musical messages and talent with song to help make a difference in those who are released from the institute with a newfound confidence and love.
