| Such A long Goodbye was written over time during several coincidences. First I was a ginni pig for a want ad," healthy males wanted", the experimental drug was being tested to see effects on Alsheimer's disease. I went to shcool for a nursing assitant program and began writing the song from the signs and sypmtoms. The title came from a picture of and old women fading away. Months after it was recorded, patients in nursing homes recited some of the words to me without hearing the song. And finally after my dad became ill before he pasted away, he also had a form of dementia. Everything very close to home.Many of my lyrics are from real life or what I heard had happened to some-one else. |
