| With the intention of playing free, unadulterated emotionalrock, Emo formed in Foggia, Italy, in October 1999. The original line-up included vocalist-guitarist Arturo, guitarist-vocalist Paolo delli Carri, bassist Marco Iaquinta and drummer Paolo Damato. The band soon recorded a 4-track demo tape which received a highly positive feedback. This led Emo to perform a couple of shows in their hometown, the latest of which taking place on the 24th December 1999. In January 2K, after bassist Marco left the band on religious grounds (that's true!), Emo began writing songs for their first promotional CD. Recordings began in February and only ended in May due to day jobs and university commitments of the various members of the band. The album will be titled "Sister Solitude" and will be available in June, although several downloads of its main tracks are already available on many websites. After this independent release, Emo are planning to play as many underground festivals as possible. The band are also looking for a distribution for the CD, as well as a record deal. |
