Donny H.'s biography is not a long struggle to stardom, in fact he has had a pretty easy start to his becoming a proffessional entertainer. Donny H. aka Donny Hyder was born and raised in Adrian, MI. about 33 miles north of the Ohio state line, his mother and father (Darrell & Angela Hyder) have backed him all the way through the good and hard times of his career and life.
About 3 yrs ago Donny H. started singing in his basement with some recording equipment where noone could hear him but his first performance came on Dec. 2nd, 2001in Branson, MO. at the Grand Plaza Hotel for the Fowler All Night Sings which was aired on the internet live for 6 months thereafter. It was a semi-final competition for a $100,000 recording contract and out of 20 artists Donny H. took 75% of the overall worldwide audience vote and was set to return to the finals the following year when he was contacted by A.M.I. so he sent in a 4 song demo and a short bio about himself, not expecting to hear back he forgot about the whole thing one because he didnt think he was good enough for nashville and two he didnt think it would be that easy to get noticed or started in music.
So about 5 months went by and he heard back from the label who wanted to cut a 2 song single with him, so in Sept. of '2002 Donny H. along with his manager set out for Nashville with the flu....what a time to get sick! The two songs hit radio in Jan. of '2003 and the title track "Listen" debut on the top 80 indie country charts at #68 and 35 wks later and 54 positions higher he peaked at #14. Pleased with the success of the single A.M.I. Records Nashville brought Donny H. back to nashville to record a 10 song album set for release worldwide.
Donny H. has just returned from Nashville after recording his new album, which was recorded at Sound Control Studios Nashville mixed and mastered by Mark Moseley (Known for recording greats like Garth Brooks, Tim McGraw, Johnny Paycheck, Vern Gosdin, Porter Wagner and many others). The album was produced by Michael Radford and is NOW AVAILABLE!!!!!!!
Since the albums release Donny H's newest radio single "Now, Now" has been getting alot of airplay not only in the U.S. but also in The United Kingdom, Australia, Germany, Holland and New Zealand since he was added as a client of Wildfire Publicity under the guidance of publicist Laura Claffey.
Donny H. has had 2 chart singles from the new album, first "Listen" which debut on the top 80 independent country chart in Jan. of '2003 at #68 and peaked 37 wks later at #14. And the second single off the album "Now, Now" debut at #47 and peaked 27 weeks later at #5. The newest radio single is "I Caught Myself" and it is continuing to gain radio airplay.
Donny H. is headed back to Nashville on Feb. 11th '2006 to shoot a video for the songs "Now, Now" and "Still" stay tuned for updates and pictures of this event! |

Smother Magazine Review Of Donny H.
Donny H stands up on his own two feet and demands attention with his rightly titled album “Listen”. His songs are Nashville certified country rock with roots rock firmly in mind. He's already had some memorable success on Indie Country charts but is here with both boots polished, ready to dominate the mainstream. So move over Tim McGraw there's a new cowboy in town. Perfect for the NASCAR lover and just as righteous for the casual country listener—and that's what separates him from so many of the pretenders in Nashville, a keen ability to write pop first and foremost and then establish a country creed like nobody's business.

A.M.I. Nashville Review of Donny H.
We believe today's Country appeals to music lovers of all ages. And Donny H flat proves the point with his new CD "Listen". We are so proud of him and this CD. He is exactly where country music is going. He has the look, the walk, the talk, the class, the style, and he sings great. This CD will have long term staying power. It will still be selling well 5 years from now. Give a "listen" and enjoy! |
