DEMENTIA PRAECOX were formed in November 2002. After a period of artistic experimentation, in Greece as well in abroad, they joined their music aspirations and they formed a band that approaches the Indie – Rock scene. In a relatively short period their first demo was recorded and signaled the beginning of their acquaintance with the alternative crowd and the onset of their live appearances. The recording took place in “Matrix” and “Esoteron” studios and includes three of their initial compositions. The guitars, in combination with the violin and Katerina's Panopoulou distinctive voice, clearly define their unique sound. Musical influences vary among band members, though they all share the Indie – Rock scene of the 90's as a common reference point. In the short period of their existence, Dementia Praecox have already begun to gain the enthusiastic acceptance of the alternative audience, as one of the major up-and-coming band of the Greek alternative scene.
