Dawn of silence is an alternative hard rock, Chicago based band that started in October of 2000.
Musical influences on the band are Metallica, Stone Temple Pilots, and Foo Fighters. What sets Dawn of Silence apart from other hard rock acts of today is the oraginality, creativity, diversity, and aggression of the music. Melodic guitar work, two-guitar harmonies, powerful vocals, and attacking stage presence are among the many features of this five-piece band.
Dawn of Silence is comprised of five members: Ivan Chapa (lead vocals), Chris Gundersen (guitar, vocals), Rob Zuckerman (guitar, vocals), Jason Borgardt (bass, vocals), and Chris Sternal (drums, vocals). The band prides itself on its burning intensity during a very dynamic live show. Dawn of Silence is not just a "studio band," they put on a live performance that needs to be seen and heard.
As the band attempts to get their music out to the people, Dawn of Silence's passion burns stronger than ever. The band is using their talent by doing what they love most, and trying to break down musical barriers doing it. Dawn of Silence released their first EP entitled "When Shadows Collide..." in June of 2001. In the future the band hopes to release a full-length album, tour the U.S., and unleash their creativity to leave their mark on music forever. |
