Formerly known as CéLange, Crabby Lady has performed their highly energetic, visually exciting stage show for audiences along the east coast region from Buffalo, New York to the Outer Banks of North Carolina. After that much time on the road, you'd be crabby too.
This raw modern rock band is fronted by Sue Lange on vocals and flute. Her partner, Gary Celima, plays every kind of guitar known to man: electric, acoustic, bass, lap steel. Lange's singular vocal style and Celima's screamin' guitar are trademarks. Clifford McComas drives the rhythm section on drums. Together these people serve up a unique style of groove-rock.
The group's first CD, "...raw!" offers the best songwriting yet done by Celima and Lange (There were two CDs released under the CéLange name.). “...raw!” marks forays into such modern genres as rap and alternative for the duo. The infectious grooves laid down by the rhythm team are matched by great lyrics to present songs hot and on the money. From the sweet and wistful “On My Dacha," inspired by a dream to the hard-hitting “Allegheny Stop” inspired by a tough reality, the team exhibits their love of a wide range of styles. Using non-traditional rock instruments such as flute and lap steel guitar, the group takes their music to a different plane. |
