| An edgy combination of hard rock, alternative, and funk. Complex guitar riffs that mirror the likes of Dream Theater, bass lines that are funky and groovy, a la Red Hot Chili Peppers, pounding drum rhythms, evoking the heavy grooves of Metal, along with a clean clear vocal approach complete with 2 and 3 part harmony. Just when you thought it couldn't get any more unique, the flute is also added to the line-up in the vein of Jethro Tull. Mixing these styles gives Audiophile a very distinct sound. Pure energy and entertainment, Audiophile is a must see live in concert. |

Audiophile @ Hard Rock Live Orlando Florida Guide In search of a new band to see, I went to Hard Rock Live Saturday January 24th to see Audiophile. Concerts at Hard Rock are always a good place to find a good up-and-coming Florida band, and Audiophile was no exception. They played a great set to top off the night of Florida rock bands. Their unique sound and style was a refreshing treat for the eyes and ears, they definitely put their hearts into the performance. Audiophile is a four piece band from Central Florida. There will be inevitable comparisons to Jetro Tull since lead vocalist Paul Peters also plays the flute. Jacob Morton plays bass and back ground vocals. Chris O'Sullivan is on guitar and backing vocals. Damion Johnson ties it all together on drums. They have only been together a short time, but they play together like seasoned bandmates. Their on-stage energy is incredible, they wear you out just watching them! They opened their set with "Quiet Place" a catchy, stick-in-your-head tune. Next up was "So Far Away" and "Hold You Have On Me". The next song, their only cover song for the night, was a great rendition of Seal's,"Kiss From A rose". The last four songs were all songs available on their sampler CD sold at the show. "A Thousand Keys" and "Halfway There", really show off the multi-part harmonies of the band. They closed out their high-energy set with "Downpour" and "Where Are You Now". It was nice to see a new, young band playing hard with their own style, rather than trying to copy a popular image. |
